Size: 20" sheath, 19" blade, 5.5" handle, 25" overall lengthThis is what I know about the sword: From the looks of the scabbard (sheath), it's probably Asian in origin. Bamboo strips are tied around the wood, all of which is hand-carved. Note the detail of cloth near the hilt. this is a very old method of attaching. The interior fit of the scabbard is perfect and well worn. If you look on the handle, you'll see a small notch underneath the butt. It's my guess that if you removed the string on the handle, this would come apart like a puzzle. I don't think there's any rivets holding the handle. Note the incredible forging on the hilt. It's actually two pieces held together with one copper band and one steel band. This is truly a magnificent piece.
